Parents, I get it. Photo day can feel like a gamble when little ones are involved. But I promise, it doesn’t have to be stressful. With a few simple strategies, we can keep things relaxed, fun, and even enjoyable for the kids (and you).

1. Let Them Know What’s Coming

Kids do better when they know what to expect. Tell them a “friend with a camera” is coming to take pictures of the family and that it’s going to be fun, not a chore.

2. Don’t Overhype It

Sometimes the more we hype something up, the more pressure kids feel. Keep the energy chill. Talk about it like a fun family outing, not a once-in-a-lifetime event.

3. Let Them Be Themselves

If your child wants to wear their cowboy boots or bring their favorite stuffed animal, great. That’s them, and I love documenting those quirks. My sessions are flexible and kid-friendly. If we need to take a break, we will.

4. Snacks & Breaks = Lifesavers

Have water and a small, non-messy snack on hand just in case. I won’t be offended if we pause for a moment to regroup.

Most importantly, don’t stress. Happy parents mean happy kids. Trust that I’ll capture beautiful images, even if things feel a little chaotic in the moment.
